Man Utd take a 1-0 lead over Granada in the Europa League quarter-finals thanks to Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes; Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, and Luke Shaw are ruled out of the second leg at Old Trafford due to booking suspensions.

Manchester United took charge of their Europa League quarter-final against Granada with a 2-0 first-leg win at Estadio Los Carmenes, thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.

On 31 minutes, Rashford scored his eighth European goal of the season with an exquisite control and finish from Victor Lindelof's precise diagonal, before Fernandes put the game out of reach with a late goal.

The streets were lined with fans as the teams arrived at the stadium for what was probably the most important night in Granada's history as they competed in a European quarter-final for the first time - but despite forcing David de Gea into some routine saves, the La Liga club barely threatened United.

United are now in pole place to advance to the Europa League semi-finals in their return to Old Trafford on Thursday, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will be without captain Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, and Luke Shaw, who have all been suspended after picking up yellow cards.

Granada's player scores are as follows: Silva (6), Diaz (6), Duarte (5), Neva (5), Vallejo (6), Gonalons (6), Montoro (5), Puertas (6), Herrera (6), Soldado (7). (5).

Foulquier (5), Sanchez (5), Machis (5), Suarez (5), Eteki (n/a) are the substitutes.

De Gea (7), Wan-Bissaka (6), Lindelof (7), Maguire (6), Shaw (5), McTominay (5), Pogba (6), James (6), Greenwood (6), Fernandes (7), Rashford (7), United: De Gea (7), Wan-Bissaka (6), Lindelof (7), Maguire (6), Shaw (5), McTominay (5), Pogba (7).

Granada raced out of the blocks, but United's biggest worry after the hosts' fast start was Rashford's health, who, despite being passed fit to play, seemed to be in pain and nursing an injury in the first quarter of an hour.

United quickly took control of the game, limiting Granada to a single shot on target. Kenedy, on loan from Chelsea, blazed a volley over from a close angle, and former Spurs striker Roberto Soldado smashed a shot into the side-netting, but the visitors got the vital away goal from the next passage of play.

Delhi's Australian coach hopeful of tapping into Indian young gun's 'superstar' potential after his disappointing 2020 IPL campaign

Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting has revealed his struggle to unlock the best of Prithvi Shaw, the Indian batting prodigy he rates as one of the most talented players he has seen.

Shaw enters the upcoming Indian Premier League as one of world cricket's most intriguing prospects, with Ponting making him something of a pet project ahead of his fourth season at the helm of Delhi.

The 21-year-old passed 50 just twice and averaged 17.53 from 13 games during last year's IPL, and Ponting admitted he was left perplexed by the right-hander's training approach, particularly during his lean spell to end the tournament.

Shaw scored two half-centuries in three innings early in the campaign but then failed to pass 20 in his final eight knocks, and was left out of the side altogether for all but one of their playoff games as the Capitals lost in the final to Mumbai Indians.
